Taxi Meters

Taxicabs operating in the City of Spokane are required to be licensed by the City. The annual licensing process includes an inspection of the meter to insure its accuracy. Meters that fail the inspection must be repaired or recalibrated. Once a meter passes a numbered seal is placed on it so the calibration can not be altered and dated approval stickers are placed on the front and rear windows. The stickers indicate the month they expire.

If a taxi has no window stickers or they are more than one year old, that taxi is not licensed to operate in the City of Spokane.
